Hi,

I have Candian PR card and is coming to expire in October 2010. I could stay in Canada for only 500
days till now owing to personal reasons and job. Now, I want to rent an apartment in Canada for 6months
and commute from there to work (Seattle, WA).

That means I will be staying in my apartment in Canada over weekends while I stay in USA for
the rest of the week. If I do this, Can I claim the period I rented
the apartment as my physical stay in Canada, during my PR renewal.
Any help is much appreciated.

Thanks
Sweta

No, you have to physically reside in Canada.

Phycally present is what you currently doing is seattle, WA. you have to be physically present in Canada to be eligible meaning have a job here or go to school here, or just live here on a day to day basis.

Good Luck

I'm curious to know what documents/questions you were asked to present at POE from Seattle. (PR Card, Passport, will your passport get stamped every time you pass? is there any entry fee/or bridge toll? etc…)

Thanks
