Express Entry Changes

Monday, June 5, 2017

On June 6, 2017 there will be several new changes to the Express Entry system. These changes affect the requirements for Express Entry and how points are awarded through the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS).

Changes include:

  • Additional points for individuals who have a brother or sister living in Canada.
  • Additional points for candidates who speak French and for those who are bilingual (French and English).
  • Registration with the JobBank.gc.ca will be optional.
  • In the case of tie scores in the Comprehensive Ranking System, Invitations To Apply (ITAs) will be awarded according to the date an Express Entry profile was first created.

You can find the full details of these new changes on the Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada website.  You can also learn more about the Express Entry system on Settlement.Org.
