Public Consultations on Labour Laws

The province of Ontario is holding public consultations to assess how the Labour Relations Act and Employment Standards Act could be amended. They will begin on June 16, 2015 and will take place in Toronto, Ottawa, Mississauga, Guelph, Windsor and London. 

The consultations will cover a range of topics including:

  • The increase in temporary jobs, part-time work, and self-employment
  • The rising prominence of service sector jobs
  • The effects of globalization and trade liberalization
  • Accelerating technological change
