Reminder to Keep Your Children’s Vaccinations Up to Date

Thursday, August 24, 2017

As a new school year approaches, Ontario is reminding parents to ensure their children's vaccines are up to date. Following Ontario's Routine Immunization Schedule protects children from serious diseases that can spread easily in schools and daycare centres.

If your child doesn’t have certain vaccinations they will not be allowed to attend school unless they have a valid exemption. They are also at risk of getting diseases that can be prevented by vaccines and they put other children at risk. You can talk to your doctor or local public health unit about getting your child vaccinated.

You can learn more about this topic in the Settlement.Org article What immunizations does my child need? or on the Province of Ontario’s Vaccines and Immunization webpage.
