The Canadian Revenue Agency (CRA) has created factsheets to give newcomers an overview of benefit and credit entitlements under the Canadian tax system. These factsheets outline how by filing your taxes you might benefit from programs like the Canada Child Benefit.

The CRA has also provided a short video entitled “New to Canada? Learn about taxes,” available in Arabic, Cantonese, English, French, Punjabi and Spanish. They also have an 8-part video series in English and French you might find useful called “Newcomers to Canada and the Canadian Tax System.”
