Help Your Child Succeed in School

  • Borrow books to read at home. The Library has books in many languages and in English. Reading to your child in any language will help him or her learn English.
  • In the summer, encourage your child to join the Summer Reading Club and other programs.
  • Library staff can help your child with school projects.

Learn about services for newcomers

  • Learn about the many free government and community programs for newcomers.
  • Borrow books and tapes that will help you learn English.

Get information about finding a job

  • Learn how to find a job, the Library has information about many professions.
  • Find out about educational or professional credentials.
  • Get information on assessing your qualifications for work and on how to access trades and professions.

Join the Library

  • To join the library you need:
    • One piece of official identification
    • Proof of address - a telephone, electric or cable TV bill
  • Children can get their own library card.
