High School Courses and Choices

Entering high school is an important time in your child’s education. The courses that students choose in grade 9, 10, 11 and 12 will have an impact on what they can study in later grades and after high school.

These sheets include information on:

  • How parents can help their children make educated course choices.
  • The requirements for graduating from high school in Ontario.
  • The difference between academic, applied, locally developed and open courses.
  • The courses required for entry into the workplace, college or university.
