Pan Am/Parapan Am Games Volunteer Benefits
The Government of Ontario has announced several benefits for people volunteering for the 2015 Pan Am and Parapan Am Games. These include participating in a certificate program and receiving an OSAP waiver or repayment deferral.

Youth Art Competition
If you are between the ages of 14-30, you are invited to submit digital art showing solidarity with Two-Spirit and LGBTI2Q youth to the 4th Wall Youth Solidarity Project competition. Submissions are accepted until April 25, 2014.

Public access to the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA)’s online services, including EFILE, NETFILE and My Account, is not currently available. The disruption is temporary and updates are posted everyday on the CRA website.

Support Available for Young Entrepreneurs
If you are between the ages of 15 and 29 and are not eligible for other self-employment programs, you could be eligible for a grant of up to $3000 to start your own business through the Strategic Community Entrepreneurship Projects program.

Social Insurance Numbers Now Provided in Paper Format
Service Canada will no longer be providing Social Insurance Number (SIN) cards. If you have applied for a SIN after March 31, you will receive a letter with the information instead of a card. Current SIN cards are still valid.

Free Children's Dental Care Program Expanded
The Ontario Healthy Smiles Program, which provides children from low-income families with free dental care, is expanding for eligible children. To find out more about this program or to get an application form, visit your local public health unit.

Postage Stamp Prices Increased
Canada Post has changed the price of postage stamps. Individually sold stamps for standard letters under 30 grams now cost $1.00 for Canadian stamps, $1.20 for stamps to the United States and $2.50 for international stamps.

New Rules for Wireless Contracts
There are now new rules for wireless service contracts for cellphones, smartphones and tablets under Ontario’s Wireless Services Agreements Act. The rules are intended to protect consumers. They apply to all contracts signed on or after April 1, 2014.

Ottawa IRB Hearings Office Closed
Starting April 1, 2014, the Immigration and Refugee Board (IRB) will no longer administer hearings in Ottawa. IRB hearings for Ottawa–based refugee claimants will now take place in Montreal.
