Where is it mandatory to wear a mask or face covering?
As the COVID-19 pandemic continues and regions in Ontario start to reopen, you will see changes and recommendations to help contain the spread. Along with physical distancing, you will see more guidelines about when and where you need to wear a non-medical face mask or face covering.
This is a list of the regions, places, and spaces that have made it mandatory or strongly recommended to wear a non-medical mask or face covering to help stop the spread of COVID-19.
Regions, Municipalities and Public Health Units
Some regions, municipalities, and Public Health Units have made non-medical masks and face coverings mandatory to wear in certain public spaces.
This list will be updated when these by-laws or directives change:
Transporation guidelines will vary by region. Not all transit systems will enforce the use of masks or face coverings. Customers who do not have a mask or face covering may still be permitted to board vehicles in some regions.
