Changes to Ontario Drug Benefit Program Cards

Monday, December 5, 2016

As of December 1st, individuals under the Ontario Drug Benefit Program will no longer receive a paper drug eligibility card and will be able to show their Ontario health card when buying prescription medicine at pharmacies.

If you are a client of the Ontario Disability Support Program (ODSP) or Assistance for Children with Severe Disabilities (ACSD), you can tell pharmacy staff that you are covered under Plan C. Instead, if you are receiving Ontario Works and Temporary Care Assistance, you can say that you are under Plan D.

Please note that this change will not impact your coverage or eligibility.
