Changes to the Ontario Public Drug Program

Tuesday, September 29, 2015

Ontario has announced changes to the Ontario Public Drug Program starting October 1, 2015. As part of these changes, many patients who have chronic conditions will be dispensed larger amounts of medication at a time and patients will generally be required to try two types of generic drugs before a brand name drug is reimbursed. Changes also affect the fees pharmacies can collect.
