Eligibility Criteria of Legal Aid Services Expanded

Legal Aid Ontario (LAO) has announced that they are extending their services to include more legal initiatives for financially eligible clients. LAO’s services will extend legal certificates in areas such as Criminal Law, Family Law, Immigration Law and Mental Health law.
Some of the recent expansions include:
- Extending legal assistance to vulnerable people who have not been convicted before
- Increasing legal coverage for complex family matters
- Supporting domestic violence community hubs
- Increasing legal support for eligible refugees and immigrants
