Reducing Classroom Sizes

Wednesday, April 12, 2017

Ontario will be reducing the number of students in each class over the next two years, while increasing support for students with special education needs. Over the next two years, full-day kindergarten classrooms will be limited to 26 students and grades 4-8 will be limited to an average of 24.5 students per school board.

The province will also support hiring around 875 teachers and 1,600 education workers for students who require special education needs or who are at risk.
