                What is a Record of Employment (ROE)?
                The Record of Employment is (ROE) an official  form that you need to apply for Employment Insurance (EI) benefits. It tells how long you worked and how much you earned with an employer. 
When you leave your job for whatever reason, your employer must give you a Record of Employment within 5 days after your last day of employment. 
Some employers submit ROEs electronically to Service Canada (the department that takes care of EI). If your employer does this, you do not need a paper copy of your ROE to apply for EI.
