Breastfeeding Support Programs Available

If you are breastfeeding, or are planning to, you can access support programs across the province to help you and your baby learn how to breastfeed.
The support programs include:
- Telephone support - you can get confidential support, one-on-one coaching, advice, and referrals from registered nurses with specialized breastfeeding training 24 hours a day, 7 days a week by calling 1-866-797-0000.
- Local support - you can find local breastfeeding services in your area through an online searchable list.
It is recommended by the World Health Organization to breastfeed babies for the first 6 months of their lives. You can find more resources for new parents in our Daily Life section on Settlement.Org.
