Canada Post Service Disruption

Wednesday, July 6, 2016

Canada Post workers are negotiating their labour agreements with the Canadian Union of Postal Workers (CUPW). This may cause a service disruption in the postal system.

Canada Post will not operate during the service disruption, so you will not be able to deliver or receive mail or parcels. If you are expecting important mail, check with the person or organization sending the mail to see if they have made plans for the service disruption.

Government Services and Benefits

The Government of Canada has placed measures during the postal disruption to ensure that you continue receiving services and benefits. You can check with the Government of Canada Department and Agencies for more information.

Immigration and Refugee Board (IRB) Claims

If you are submitting documents to the Immigration and Refugee Board of Canada (IRB), you are still required to submit them on time according to the regulations. The IRB is making plans for the service disruption. You can contact the regional office if you have questions.
