Credit Card Advisory

Friday, February 3, 2017

The Financial Consumer Agency of Canada (FCAC) is reminding all Canadians that banks must ask your permission before they can issue a credit card. Banks and salespeople must offer simple, clear and not misleading language when communicating with you.

FCAC issued this consumer alert after receiving complaints that some banks had signed people up for credit cards without receiving their full permission.
