There are times that a child cannot remain at home with their parent or caregiver because of serious safety concerns, this is when a child will enter the foster care system.

Adopting children happens for different reasons; regardless of your reason, there are steps to take if you are planning on blending and growing your family.
What are perinatal mood disorders?
Perinatal mood disorders can occur during pregnancy or in the first year after the arrival of a new baby. People may also use terms like postpartum depression, postpartum anxiety, or postpartum mood disorder instead.

How do I get a criminal record check?
A criminal record check is a search you can request from the police for a listing of any crimes you may have been charged with. Depending on where you live, you can contact your regional or municipal police service to apply to have a records check done.
Where can I find support groups for lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, queer, questioning, intersex, or asexual (LGBTQIA+) newcomers?
If you are new to Ontario you may want to connect with other newcomers who also identify as LGBTQIA+. You may want to find a community group specifically for LGBTQIA+ newcomers. You don’t have to be openly out to join these kinds of groups.
