Here are some different ways you can save money shopping:
Buy Second-Hand
In Canada it is common to buy second-hand (previously used) clothing, furniture and other items. You can buy these goods at stores operated by voluntary or religious organizations such as Goodwill Services or the Salvation Army. There are also independently-owned second-hand stores.
You can also buy used items at garage or yard sales. These are informal private sales held by individuals or organizations outside homes or apartment buildings. Signs on street corners or in front of houses and newspapers ads show the location of such sales. Bargaining is acceptable.

Look for Deals
Watch in the newspaper and on television for sales, discounts and coupons. You may get flyers from local stores in your mail that advertise their weekly specials.

Some community centres, public libraries and other non-profit agencies provide reduced-cost or free services, such as access to computers, internet, fax, photocopier and telephone.
