How important is it for my child to learn French in school?
French and English are Canada’s official languages. All English-language schools in Canada teach French as a second language. It allows your children to learn about francophone culture and it may benefit them in the future.
Where can my child learn our home language?
It is very important to speak English or French to be successful in Canada, but your home language and culture are also important.

What kind of language support does the school system provide?
Many schools have English Literacy Development (ELD) and English Language Learning (ELL) programs for children. These programs are sometimes grouped under English as a Second Language (ESL).
