to 11:30 AM
Skills for Change invites you to an online workshop: Accessing Legal Support Services.
This virtual session is presented by METRAC, at Skills for Change
METRAC: Action on Violence is a not-for-profit, community-based organization that works to end gender-based violence against women, youth, trans, and nonbinary people. Through METRAC’s Community Justice Program, we facilitate workshops on Plain Language Legal Information. In this workshop we will provide legal information on getting legal support, in the forms of advice, guide, or representation.
Participants will learn about:
- things to consider in getting legal support
- the role of the lawyer
- where to look for legal support (legal advice and/or representation, legal guide, help at the courthouse, human rights support, general resources)
Participants will have an opportunity to ask the presenter questions about the topic, as well as to get information about available community support and resources.
