YMCA Newcomer Information Centre invites you to a series of workshops: Connecting Dots to Employment - Personal Inventory Workshop I.
What an employer sees in print on a resume is not always who they meet in person during an interview. Becoming more self-aware of who you are and what you can offer can dramatically improve your first encounter with a potential employer. After all, you
only get one chance to make a good first impression, so make it a good one.
Personal Inventory is the first workshop in Connecting the Dots to Employment, a pre-employment workshop series that exposes you to different considerations during your job hunt, other than your resume and cover letter. The series will help you explore
your own assets while understanding your tolerance for change; you will learn about the inner workings of the workplace while acquiring new tools for communicating with others. You will recognize your uniqueness and learn how to make online platforms
work for you.
- Recognizing the strengths and weaknesses of employability status
- Identifying your current life path
- Goal setting using the S.M.A.R.T. method
