YMCA Newcomer Information Centre invites you to a series of workshops: Connecting Dots to Employment - Social Media Workshop V.
Have you figured out how to use social media to your advantage? Social media is the interaction between people in which they create, share, and/or exchange information and ideas in virtual communities and networks. They can be used by the public to engage with one another or by organizations to communicate with audiences. When used correctly, you can improve your public image and increase your attractiveness to employers.
Social Media is the fifth workshop in Connecting the Dots to Employment, a pre-employment workshop series that exposes you to different considerations during your job hunt, other than your resume and cover letter. The series will help you explore your own assets while understanding your tolerance for change; you will learn about the inner workings of the workplace while acquiring new tools for communicating with others. You will recognize your uniqueness and learn how to make online platforms work for you.
