Description:
Border(Ing) Practices invites youth (ages 18–30) to participate in the Fearless Methodology Workshop.
WHO:
- Up to 8 racialized immigrant youth (ages 18–30) with past child welfare experience while living with a parent or caregiver without permanent status in Canada
WHERE & WHEN:
- Toronto Workshop – Saturday, August 24, 2025 (in-person, downtown Toronto. Location to be shared after registration)
WHAT TO EXPECT:
- A full-day (6-hour) in-person art workshop
- Co-led by a trained artist and a member of our research team
- We will follow the Fearless Methodology – a six-step creative process to help you share stories of strength, struggle, and survival
- A group art piece will be made and shared at a future community event
- You can also choose to do a private one-on-one interview
WHAT YOU GET:
- $100 honorarium (thank-you payment)
- Free lunch and snacks
- Help with travel costs (up to $10)
OTHER IMPORTANT INFO:
- We will record audio during the workshop to capture your ideas and stories
- You do not need to share your name or immigration status
- Everything you say is private and confidential
- You can stop or leave at any time – your choice matters
