2018 Rent Cap is 1.8%

Monday, June 26, 2017

In 2018, your landlord cannot raise the cost of your rent by more than 1.8%. The 2017 cap is 1.5%. As part of the Rental Fairness Act, buildings constructed after November 1, 1991 are no longer excluded from these rules.

Your landlord can only increase your rent once a year and they must let you know 90 days in advance. You can read more about rental increases and your rights as a tenant on Settlement.Org.
