Public Consultations on Making IDs and Forms Inclusive

Tuesday, August 9, 2016

The Government of Ontario is seeking public consultation on how to make sex and gender information on government issued IDs and forms more inclusive of trans and non-binary gender identities.

You can share your feedback online by September 16, on the following issues:

  • How the government should collect, use, retain, and display sex and gender information;
  • Use of a third gender identifier (such as an “X”) for those who do not identify exclusively as male or female; and
  • How to create greater consistency in using gender or sex information on government forms and products.
