How do I pay for my purchases?
Most stores accept one or more of the following types of payment:
- Cash
- Debit (bank) cards
- Credit cards
- Store credit cards
- Personal cheques
Look for signs at the entrance and at the cash register that show which forms of payment they accept on the entrance doors and at the cash registers. Some stores will accept only one type of credit card. Make sure you have a type of payment the store will accept before you start your shopping.
There is sales tax in Ontario. Find out more in What is the taxation system in Canada?
