When do I apply for admission to a university or college?

Apply before the school's application deadline. Begin the application process at least one year in advance.

The admission application process can take a lot of time so you should start at least one year in advance to collect the necessary information and documentation.

Get information about deadlines and apply to universities and colleges online:

• University Applications - Apply to Ontario universities through the Ontario Universities' Application Centre (OUAC).
• College Applications - Apply to Ontario colleges through the Ontario College Application Service (OCAS).

You can also contact the Office of Admission at the school you are interested in for information about deadlines, application forms, and translation and visa requirements.

Schools usually make a decision about applications within 4 - 6 months of the application deadline, although this can vary from one university or college to another.
