The Interim Federal Health Program (IFHP) is a program that pays for medical services for a short period of time for resettled refugees, protected persons, refugee claimants, and victims of human trafficking.
I am a refugee claimant. Can I study?
There are some cases in which you will need a study permit in order to study. Refugee claimants who do not have a valid Temporary Resident Visa also need to apply for study permits.

How do I repay my travel loan if I am a refugee or protected person?
You will receive a letter outlining the minimum amount you need to pay back each month. You do not have to pay interest on these types of loans.
I am a government sponsored refugee. Can I get help with housing when I arrive?
If you are a government-sponsored refugee who lands by air in Toronto, Immigrant Reception and Information Services (IRIS) will meet you at the airport.
I am a refugee claimant. Can I work?
As a refugee claimant, you need a work permit and a Social Insurance Number (SIN) to work in Canada.
