Free Pre-Apprenticeship Training

The Ontario Government is providing the opportunity for 1,200 people to enroll in free Pre-Apprentice Training Programs. These 67 training programs are meant to help participants gain job skills and experience in the skilled trades. The Pre-Apprenticeship programs prepare people for high-demand jobs in trades such as:
- Plumbing
- Carpentry
- Welding
- Heavy Equipment Technicians
Some local programs are focused on recruiting people who are under-represented in the skilled trades, such as newcomers, women and Indigenous people.
