Funding for New Bridge Training Projects

Wednesday, August 10, 2016

The Government of Ontario is providing $3.35 million for 11 new bridge training projects in Ontario to help highly skilled immigrants find jobs in their profession.

The funding will help to support the bridge training projects in the following ways:

  • Improve access to career assistance services;
  • Help employers recruit and retain more internationally trained immigrants, through networking events and workshops; and
  • Identify newcomers’ skills and alternative career paths.

You can find detailed descriptions of the new bridge training programs on the Ministry of Citizenship and Immigration page. To learn more about this topic, you can read the Alternative Jobs section and the Bridging Programs article on Settlement.Org.
