Ontario Athletes in the 2016 Olympic Games

Starting today, there are 141 Ontario athletes competing in the Olympic Summer Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil among 314 members of Team Canada. Some of the members include:

  • Rosie MacLennan from King City, who won the gold medal at 2012 Olympics for trampoline gymnastics,
  • Damian Warner from Toronto, running in the men's decathlon,
  • Lesley Thompson-Willie, a 56-year old rower from London and the oldest member of Team Canada,
  • Mark Oldershaw, who won gold medal at the 2016 International Canoe Federation Sprint World Cup in Portugal,
  • Penny Oleksiak, a 16 year old swimmer from Toronto.
