Friday, September 4, 2020

Ontario is reporting an increase in jobs for three consecutive months according to Statistics Canada.

Unemployment rates have fallen in September as the province sees more jobs opening up. According to the Ministry of Economic Development, Job Creation and Trade the following increases happened in the last three months:

  • 141,800 jobs in August.
  • July’s employment increased by 150,700.
  • 377,900 jobs were added in June, including 66,200 in the manufacturing sector.

While these numbers are positive, Ontario is still said to have a long way to go to achieve a full economic recovery. As fall approaches, the government is working with world-class entrepreneurs and innovators, to prioritize made-in-Ontario solutions that will shape a sustainable economic climate to benefit all regions of the province.
