How do I find shared housing?
Shared housing is when you share an apartment or house with another person or another family. You have a private bedroom and share the other living spaces, such as the kitchen and bathroom.
It is important to know that shared housing arrangements are not covered by the Residential Tenancies Act (RTA). Read Who does the RTA apply to? for more information.
Finding a place to live in Ontario can be expensive and difficult. One way to save money is to share an apartment or house with other people. Sometimes you share the costs of household supplies and groceries too. While sharing a place is common for students and young people, it is also a great way for adults to save money.
